THE OVERLAP

Branding

For many, the COVID-19 pandemic provided an opportunity to chase passion projects, and for yours truly, I was no different. A long-time-lover of all things music, I developed a platform for up-and-coming, international, and old-school artists who aren't receiving the recognition they truly deserve, for one reason or another. Included in the project, I was responsible for creating the brand identity, web design, social media strategy, and conducting interviews.

TOOLS USED Adobe Suite (Ae, Ai, Pr, Ps), Wix

A long-time-lover of all things music, I developed a platform for up-and-coming, international, and old school artists who aren't receiving the recognition they truly deserve, for one reason or another. Included in the project, I was responsible for creating the brand identity, web design, social media strategy, and conducting interviews.

TOOLS USED Adobe Suite (Ae, Ai, Pr, Ps), Wix

Social media may have been the best introduction to the platform, but the website itself was intended to be easily engaged with and visually appealing, created using a mix of Adobe Suite programs and Wix. 

The icon was designed to represent the overlapping of interests that can not and should not, be defined by labels. It could be a flower, but it could also be soup dumplings, and this ambiguity was meant to mirror the diverse passions of the platform.

I wanted to create something big, bright, and bold to stand out from the crowd. The primary colors were chosen at a mid-to-high-level saturation so they really pop against the wide usage of dark background. The same is said about font selection.
